Tell us your stories
There has been a lot of change in Hackney over the last 10 to 15 years, so we would like to hear from local residents about what this means for them.
The Council's Chief Executive, Tim Shields said:
“So much has changed in Hackney in recent years. We want to give local people the chance to share their thoughts and feelings about the change. Much of the change has been positive, but Hackney faces many challenges: an affordable housing crisis, a growing population, and massive central government cuts to local public service budgets”.
We would like to capture a variety of personal stories and circumstances to improve our understanding of the impact on local residents.
Why your views matter
We would like hear your views about the way the borough is changing and how the change is affecting you, whether positive or negative.
We would also like to hear your ideas about how we can work together to face the challenges, keeping Hackney as a place for all residents. What happens next

The Panel Debate

The event will take place at City Academy, Homerton. -
Hackney Matters Panel members event (restricted to members)
From 18 Jun 2015 at 18:30 to 18 Jun 2015 at 20:30The event is part of the year-long engagement campaign called ‘Hackney: A place for everyone?’ which launched in March and aims to hear residents views about the challenges facing the borough today.
Hackney Matters members will be asked to give feedback on their experience of the rapid and social economic changes that have affected the borough, and the impact it has had on your lives. We will also be asking for feedback on things that they feel would make a difference in the local area. -
