Richmond Road, Boundary Change Implementation

Due to a technical error, the boundary change of numbers 2 to 86 Richmond Road and bays adjacent on the southern kerb from Zone C to Zone J will take place from Friday 21st of June. Residents do not have to do anything to their existing resident permits and companion badge. All virtual permits will automatically change from a Zone C permit to a Zone J permit on the 21st of June.

Overview

Parking Services are reviewing the existing zone boundary outside numbers 2 to 86 Richmond Road and the bays adjacent to the southern kerb. The proposal will relocate these addresses from Zone C to Zone J, allowing residents and businesses to park closer to their homes or place of work. The current parking arrangements only allow parking on the northern side of Richmond Road or further away in Forest Grove and Holly Street.

The hours of operation in Zone C are Monday to Saturday 8.30am to 6.30pm. If the boundary change proposal is supported, residents and businesses will adopt the hours of operation in Zone J which are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.30pm and Monday to Saturday 8.30am to 6.30pm in various roads within a subzone adjacent to Broadway Market. As Richmond Road is further away from Broadway Market, residents will not be impacted by the Saturday controls that are currently in place in these roads. Please see a map of Zone J below for further information.

The change in the hours of operation will have no impact on current permit holders. However, should the boundary change be supported, there will no longer be a need to use visitor vouchers on a Saturday.

We are not proposing changes to any other sections of Richmond Road or nearby roads within Zone C at this stage.
