Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Alternative Provision (AP) Strategy Questionnaire

Closed 20 Jul 2025

Opened 23 Jun 2025

Overview

Hackney is working with residents, colleagues, and partners to create a new Special Educational Needs (SEND) and Alternative Provision (AP) Strategy. The current SEND Strategy finishes at the end of 2025, so this is our chance to get together and set new priorities and ambitious targets for 2026-2030.

We have spoken in small groups with parents and carers, children and young people, and various professionals, to understand the key challenges that young people with SEND in Hackney face across the following areas:

  • Health
  • Education
  • Community Inclusion
  • Independence

This was just the first step in our process and we want to hear from as many people as possible, working together to create a strategy that drives meaningful change! Please help us build on the feedback we have had so far, by sharing your knowledge and suggestions below.

We want everyone to be able to complete this questionnaire If you need it in a different format, or need help to understand or fill it in (including translation), please get in touch (consultation@hackney.gov.uk). Please allow us reasonable time to arrange these adjustments
