Overview
There have been significant developments since the introduction of our first survey in March and your responses have not only helped Hackney Council identify the gaps in support for many organisations but also enabled us to use this data to lobby the Government for further support on your behalf.
The Mayor of Hackney, Philip Glanville and Cllr Guy Nicholson, Cabinet Member for Planning, Culture and Inclusive Economy have written several letters to the Government and provided submissions to the Business Energy and Industrial Strategy Commission outlining the issues faced by our business community and you can find these at the bottom of the page:
- Letter to Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak - Supporting local businesses during the COVID-19 emergency
- Letter to Financial Secretary to the Treasury, Jesse Norman - Calling for enhanced scrutiny of the insurance industry
- Submission to the Business Energy and Industrial Strategy Commission - The impact of coronavirus on businesses and workers
This new business impact monitoring form will be used to assess the medium to long term impact of the pandemic on your business and identify the support you will require to survive, rebuild and progress once business restrictions have been lifted.
We will continue to keep contributors informed of our work using the results of the form through the Hackney Business Network newsletter, please sign up here if you have not done so already.
If you require support during this period please visit our business support pages online.
