Thank you for your interest in becoming an air quality champion!
We are looking for air quality champions to help residents and communities to better understand local air pollution and the ways they can reduce their exposure to air pollution and contribute to cleaner air.
This sign-up form is for Hackney. Follow the links if you are interested in being an air quality champion in Newham or Tower Hamlets. If you'd like to be a City of London air quality champion, please email airqualitywebtool@hackney.gov.uk.
To start, we are looking for residents to take part in workshops to develop a webtool. At the workshops you will hear more about the project and work directly with specialists to help design the webtool. Please note that you do not need to be an expert in air pollution or have any prior knowledge to take part.
The workshops will take place between January and February 2023 and you will have an option to attend online or in person.
Selected participants will receive a digital voucher worth £20 for their contribution to the workshop. We expect the workshop to be no more than 1.5 hours.
Once the webtool has been developed we will ask participants to give some feedback on the webtool before we launch the final design. This will be via an online drop in session in early 2023.
If this sounds like something you want to get involved in please sign up to express your interest in becoming an air quality champion.
Please be aware that signing up does not guarantee you will be selected to attend as we have a limited number of workshop spaces. However, we may contact you about other ways you can get involved in becoming an air quality champion.
Hackney, alongside Tower Hamlets Council, Newham Council and the City of London Corporation will be developing the webtool in a joint project, funded by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
If you have any questions or would like further information, please contact airqualitywebtool@hackney.gov.
