Project One: The new children’s splash pad

We are proposing to install a new children’s splash pad on the site of the former bowling green. This will provide families with water play facilities that are:

  • close to a kiosk cafe, picnic tables and accessible toilets
  • located away from sound and air pollution from the road, and secluded with more tree coverage to provide shade
  • acccessible to more children with play all on one level
  • exciting and offer more play value to children
  • accessible to a wider range of ages, with a toddler area
  • safer for toddlers due to the lack of pooling water
  • cleaner, more hygienic and doesn't require closure for cleaning as often
  • more environmentally sustainable then a pool in the way water is used
  • more financially sustainable and easier to maintain
  • next to existing facilities that can be repurposed and improved rather than built from scratch

Before filling in the survey please take time to view the designs. The link below allows you to zoom in on the detail.

Please include the views of your children if you have been able to share and discuss the designs with them. We’d love to hear what they think too!
