Central London Cycle Grid Whiston Road
Overview
This consultation document is about gathering views from the public on proposals to improve the environment for cycling and walking along the Central London Cycle Grid along Whiston Road.
Why your views matter
The Council is committed to making Hackney’s roads safer for everyone living in, working in and visiting the Borough. Creating an environment that will encourage more walking and cycling is a key part of the Council’s Transport Vision and an essential part of Hackney’s Transport Strategy.
Hackney Council has partnered with a number of other London authorities and Transport for London (TfL) to deliver the Central London Cycle Grid (CLG). The CLG is a network of cycle routes in Central London Zone 1, containing a mixture of Cycle Superhighway and Quietway routes. Quietways are well sign posted, connected cycle routes that provide an attractive and accessible environment for cyclists on low-traffic roads.
All of the information can be found in the leaflet and map (links below), please take the time to read through these carefully and then tell us what you think of the proposals.
Notice of Amendment to the attached leaflet (page 1): The Council planned to consult on further improvements along this CLG route prior to the consultation on Whiston Road. However, due to Ward Councillor elections in the Hoxton Area, this consultation has been postponed and residents in the Hoxton will recieve a consultation pack in late November 2016.
