Ash Grove SPD

Overview

Hackney Council’s planning team are creating new planning guidance for the land at Ash Grove bus garage and the transport depot on Andrews Road, called a Supplementary Planning Document.

This area has been identified as a potential site for new development in Hackney’s Local Plan – a document guiding new development in the borough – which could create a greener, electric bus depot alongside new homes, commercial spaces and community facilities.

The new Supplementary Planning Document will guide future planning applications on the site and inform what form any new development must take, shaped by input from the local community.

Why your views matter

We need your feedback to complete the Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) for Ash Grove. While we consult with experts, we believe your ideas and local insights as residents, workers, and students in the area are invaluable in shaping the SPD's content. You are the experts on what it's like to be a part of this community, and we want your input to ensure the SPD maximizes benefits for Hackney.

The SPD is expected to be ready in 2024. As part of the process, we are providing three opportunities for the local community to get involved. You can attend one of our in-person community workshops, add your thoughts to the Citizen Space map, and participate in the formal 8-week consultation period, as required by the SPD adoption process.

Your views will directly impact the final plan. The 'design parameters' included in the SPD will be shaped by your valuable input. By sharing your perspectives, you can help shape the future of Ash Grove and ensure that the SPD reflects the needs and aspirations of the local community.
