Overview

Welcome to the online survey which aims to inform the design of proposals to make a greener, healthier Pembury Circus and Amhurst Road.

This survey will take approximately 7 minutes to complete. The purpose of this survey is to collect local opinions on how we can make the most of the new public spaces that will be created and what your priorities are for the design of this new green route through Hackney Central.

Hackney Council launched the Hackney Central Conversation in July 2019 so local people could share what they love about Hackney Central, the challenges they experience, and what changes they would like to see the Council make in the area. Thousands of people took part in the Hackney Central Conversation and helped create the Hackney Central Town Centre Strategy.

Based on the outcomes of previous engagement with local people, this project will look at delivering on longstanding commitments to make the Amhurst Road and Pembury Circus greener and safer, and to create a new green corridor through the heart of Hackney Central.

Vision and Principles

Following an initial analysis of the project area, the design team feels that the nature of Amhurst Road currently changes as you travel along it, and any future design proposals should work with this idea and provide a series of spaces along Amhurst Road which create different feelings for people and serve different purposes.

We want to know what your thoughts are on this, and to share with us any visions you have for the area!
