Overview

Parking Services consulted residents and businesses in the Zone N extension area between August and October 2015 about the introduction of parking controls on their roads and surrounding roads in the area (Stage One consultation in Zone N displacement area).

Why your views matter

During the consultation, all local residents and business owners in the ‘uncontrolled’ area were sent a consultation pack and were given the opportunity to have their say on the proposed introduction of parking controls.

As a result of the consultation and support from local residents, the Council approved the introduction of parking controls in the following streets:

Northern section displacement area

• Atherden Road

• Alfearn Road

• Rushmore Road (uncontrolled section)

• Elmcroft Street

• Mayola Road (uncontrolled section)

• Saratoga Road,

• Colenso Road

• Hilsea Street

• Newick Road

• Mildenhall Road (section between Lower Clapton Road and Cornthwaite Road)

• Thistlewaite Road

• Laura Place

• Millfields Road.

Eastern section displacement area

• Colne Road

• Durrington Road

• Trehurst Street

• Meeson Street

• Daubeney Road (section south of Redwald Road)

• Ashenden Road (uncontrolled section)

• Adley Street

• Kingsmead Way

Before we install the new parking restrictions, we want to ensure that we have got the design layout and use of the parking bays right. We want to know your views on the proposed design (including the type and location of different parking bays) and hours of operation for your zone.

What happens next

17 October 2016

Now the public consultation has been completed and recommendations have been approved, the Council is required to carry out a Statutory Consultation, where a Traffic Management Order notice is advertised in Hackney Today for a 21 day period.

7 November 2016

Residents and businesses can begin applying for a parking permit from Monday 7th November 2016 pending statutory consultation.

We encourage you to purchase your permit early as this will enable you to park in the nearby Zone N during the lining works.

Please ensure that you enter 19 December 2016 as your start date when you purchase online.

November/December

We plan to start lining works in the roads that are to be incorporated into Zone N in November/December 2016, pending statutory consultation.

19 December 2016

Pending statutory consultation, we plan to begin enforcement of parking restrictions in your street on the 19 December 2016. From this date, all motorists will need to display a Zone N parking permit, visitor voucher or pay and display ticket during operational hours of the PZ.
